Double Header in the North

Still windy today so we decided to fish a protected area in the north of Faial.. We made the right decision and just after we arrived we had a double header and caught both Blue Marlin.. Fish we around 300 and 400 pounds and ate Black Barts Kona Pro Jet and the 1656 Angle.. That was it for the day..

Wind

Strong wind and big waves today made our fishing day really short...hopefully better conditions tomorrow!!!

Bite continues

The Azores Bank is still the place to be if you want to catch big atlantic blue marlin....We went 3 for 3 on Blues today, releasing an 850, 700 and 600 pounder and 1 for 2 on Whites...Absolutely incredible fishing right now... hope it stays like this

New Record

Today we broke the boat record with most blue marlin caught in a season on Habitat from last year with the release of number 26...
We had a great fishing day at Azores Bank...We went 4 for 6 on Blue Marlin ( released a 650, 450, 400  and a 250 pounder) and 1 for 2 on White Marlin...All fish beside the 650 (on Hot Breakfast) were caught on the Hawaiian Breakfast from Black Bart..

2 for 3

We fished Azores Bank again today...We caught a small Blue Marlin (300lbs) around noon and another one (600lbs) late in the afternoon...both fish ate the Blue Breakfast on the short corner...on the way back we hooked a decent one and pulled hook close to the boat...that was on the Big Rock Plunger...day off tomorrow

One more

Today we had a bite in the morning, but nobody saw what it was and it came off after a few seconds...
After that we raised a Blue Marlin that just had a look at the lure but never touched it and disappeared..In the late afternoon we finally hooked and caught a Blue Marlin around 350 pounds that ate the Blue Breakfast on the short corner...

Tricky Day

We fished in calm waters on Azores Bank today....there were so many fish around but they didn´t eat proper and preferred to play with the lures....Finally got 6 bites from Blue Marlin and caught 2 out of them...One fish was aroun 750 pounds, the other one around 550...going out tomorrow again

Short corner action!!!!

After a bad day yesterday we had a great one today...we caught 3 Blue Marlin and pulled the hook on one more...The fish were 800, 700 and 450 pounds...one we caught on the Hot Breakfast and all the others took the Blue Breakfast on the short corner...Everything happened on Azores Bank

No luck

We fished Azores Bank today, but had absolutely no luck...we didn´t get any bites on the bank and on the way back we pulled hooks on a blue after 30 seconds....tomorrow will be different!!!

One Blue

We fished Azores Bank today... we caught a Blue Marlin around 550lbs on the Big Rock Plunger in the early afternoon...weather was very nice, finally...we´re going out tomorrow again

Super Plunger raised a nice one

We had the last day of filming today and went to Azores Bank... Finally we managed to get a Blue around 800 lbs and a White Marlin behind the teaser... Teaser was Black Bart´s Super Plunger... Tomorrow fishing again

Today we tried to run our teaser at Condor Bank but we had no luck and saw nothing...Hopefully on our last day of filming tomorrow the luck is on our side...

Today we had less wind and we tried to go to Azores Bank again, but we didn´t see anything and so we went to the south of Pico in the afternoon, but the result was the same...nothing

Nothing but wind

Today was very windy again and the only option was running our teaser in the north of Faial. We tried it, but saw nothing....Weather should improve tomorrow....

Storm

Today was the first day of a film project where we try to film free swimming billfish....we had really rough sea and a lot of wind, so it was only possible to try to raise fish in the north of Faial...We raised a white marlin on Black Bart´s Super Plunger and that was it for the day...

"Habitat hooked up"

3 times we could call in a hookup on the radio today and we managed to catch all 3 Blue Marlin...We fished Azores Bank in rough waters but the fish were biting...We caught a 700, 550 and a 450 pounder. 2 fish ate the Hot Breakfast and the biggest one the Big Rock Plunger...It was a great day fishing at the Azores!!!!

Baby Blue

After 4 days at the dock we went out fishing again today...We fished Azores Bank in perfect conditions with excellent bait for most of the time...We caught a very small Blue Marlin around 60lbs on Black Barts Eleuthera Plunger and on the way back we had some dorados on a bait rod for dinner...Nice fishing day in beautiful weather!!!!

Lucky day for Habitat

After 2 days break we went out fishing again today...We fished Azores bank and nothing happened till 5.45pm and then we lost a small Blue Marlin close to the boat...Right after that we hooked another one were fighting it for about an hour and finally released the fish...The 800 pounder ate the Hot Breakfast from Black Bart...

Good One

We had an excellent fishing day on Hatbitat today...We fished Azores Bank and hooked a Blue Marlin in the morning around 750lbs...We had the swivel around 1 foot away from the rodtip when we pulled hooks...Around noon we got a second chance and this time we caught the fish...It was a Blue around 850lbs that ate Black Bart´s Big Rock Plunger on the long corner...The fish did some spectacular jumps and we were able to release it in perfect condition...
